When reflecting on our presentation, it is clear that we focused too heavily on the actual slides, interviews, and intangibles and not enough on the delivery and speaking aspects. We spent a lot of time on the design and structure of the slides and discussing what content to include, but we didn't sufficiently rehearse or practice our lines. As a result, we had a lackluster performance; we weren't confident and struggled to find the flow of the presentation. However, I am proud of my team for sticking through it and compromising when needed.
The lesson I learned from this project was that we need to focus more on our delivery. As I watched others present, I found myself paying more attention to the speakers and their demeanor, a lot more than what was actually on the slides. I also noticed that even though some groups didn't have much information on their slides, I still learned a lot from their individual speeches and their explanations. In the future, I will definitely use this strategy and focus on making the performance engaging and having smooth transitions between speakers.
